I find this part kind of interesting Last year, a joint study by the Harvard and the University of California, San Diego, found there might actually be a so-called "liberal gene" that influences political leanings. so much for all people are created equal, if true does this imply that I can sue if I have the liberal gene and government is ran by conservatives or vice versus? As there would be a bias against the brain "deformity" that I was born with.

Given that this research has a modicum of validity (which I am thinking is unlikely), I wonder if a society that has a good mix of People that sit around quivering in fear along with a good mix of people that have the ability to look past that using their ability to process complex thought, have a competitive advantage over societies that are primarily one type or the other.

In other words, could our society actually benefit from the Glenn becks of the world? I know, it's hard to see how...

Oh, learning from history has it's place.

Sure. But the ability to place those lessons in proper context and be able to differentiate when and where to focus your concern is far far more important.

Look and the crazed way we are fighting our war on terror, constantly reacting to the last threat instead of contemplating the next one. A waste of time, resources and lives.

I have no idea how embracing every change and assuming it will all be for the best accomplishes that.

I don't know anyone who does that.

Sweeping generalizations show a marked lack of complexity of thought. ;)

the ability to place those lessons in proper context and be able to differentiate when and where to focus your concern depends on an ability to recognize trends and patterns.

The story is obviously biased.
It somehow left out the part that liberals suffer from brain contusions from sitting on it.

Agreed, baldy. And the ability to differentiate them from random noise.
