In the ongoing saga of how the Right win continues to get fleeced by its "media":

David "The Vice President is not part of the Executive Branch" Addington to head Heritage's monitoring of government overreach.

The man who spearheaded the largest expansion of federal government power in history seems worried that government might now be getting too big.

A peek behind the curtain of an ongoing scam to gin up conservatives, take their money, and offer up John Boehner as their singular achievement.

OK, that last part I tacked on. But after losing massively in the last election, what does the conservative media machine have to show for itself and the taking of hundreds of millions of dollars in donations?

Both of our two primary political parties, has its fair share of sheeple. The GOP side however, has a much larger segment, who scream about governmental intrusion into their lives, as they walk to the mailbox for their monthly aid checks. (Well, they used to have to walk to their mailboxes. Now they get the debit card, so they can just sit there and complain about the government in their lives.) This GOP "base", is most likely NEVER going to "get it".

These PD, are the ditto-heads, like my father. Who in the 90s, railed abut Clinton building a secret tunnel from the WH to Andrews, so he could make his get away when the people came for him. Where did pop get this asinine idea? Rush Limbaugh talked about it on air one day. So I asked pop.."If it is a national secret, and Limbaugh leaked it; do you REALLY think he would still be on the air? Besides which, it wasnt Clinton who build the tunnel Dd, it was Ike. And every Pres since, has updated, upgraded and maintained it."....but the simple truth, doesnt penetrate. Logic, reason, dont apply. They march in lockstep hatred, of the very thing which gives the freedoms to hate it...the United States Government.

There have always been wingnuts, of course. The difference now is that the Right has so thoroughly captured a large segment of a formerly-great party into giving them scads of money for their shell game, and given back virtually nothing in return except a place to vent about their self-made complaints.

In a Rachel Maddow segment I posted a few days ago, she demonstrated how Dick Morris sold to his own SuperPAC his DickMorris.com email list for over a million dollars during the last campaign. This happens all the time--money changes hands constantly among the conversative media types. It is a cabel.

In the end, they aren't actually producing anything. Yet we're supposed to look up to these people?

# 3 - come on PD, you don't think among the liberal media and liberal donors, the money isn't changing hands in exactly the same way? Its pretty disingenious to point out that the conservatives are doing it w/out acknowledging its something that happens on both sides.

So if some liberal groups are found to do it, that would be OK then?

Conservative groups not only do it to a much larger and pervasive way, but have virtually no achievements to show for it.

If liberal groups do it at all (and I'm not convinced they do even a fraction of what is done by conservative groups), at least they can point to both elective and legislative achievements.

The Right wing media bubble and cash exchange is self-perpetuating.

The moneymaking media machine is far bigger on the Right than the Left. Rush, Coulter, O'Reilly, Hannity and Beck are all bigger figures than anyone on the Left, and it's not because they possess more insight or wisdom than their liberal counterparts.

I see the same thing here as in other discussions like the ones on violent rhetoric - excuses for actions of groups you agree with because they are supposedly on a smaller scale.

First I'll say maybe I mis-read what you are getting at in post 3. Post 3 you seem to be saying that a lot of the money floating around is just the same money recycled thru different hands. Right or wrong on how I'm reading that?
