I am very sad to report that longtime Political Gurupie Pancho Villa has passed away. Don't know how, just reported on Facebook. He was one of my favorite posters in this forum, I learned more from him than probably anyone else here.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him over ten years ago when he was in Seattle with his two young children. My thoughts are with them today. SZ

Oh no!! That is horrible. I also had the pleasure to meet him, and he struck me as one of the good guys, who saw the world, and what is important, very clearly.

I am very sad to hear the news.

Oh, how horrible! Damn. Always like him online, and he was a great presence on these boards.

Certainly a shocker for us all. I've sent his buddy JorgeSags an e-mail to see if the family is accepting flowers or charitable donations in his name. I'll let you know if I learn anything.

Despite only knowing him online, I feel a strong sense of loss. He always struck me as a really good, REALLY intelligent guy.

RIP PV. Whatever is beyond just gained a helluva musician, fantasy baseball player, and political discussion king.

PV up 10.5 on the day. Too sad.

Was it completely out of the blue, Sags? Or had he just not been sharing a condition?

We should all check our notifiers to make sure the board gets notified if we go. Plenty of us here are greybeards. I've told my wife to do so, but I have no idea if she'd remember. My facebook is set pretty guarded. I'll have to reconsider that.

OMG....Rest in Peace good sir. Thank-you SZ, for making us aware of the tragedy.

I will certainly miss, his well thought out, researched and stated commentaries.

I met Bob Clemens about 5 yrs ago. He was one of my first golf buddies. He was a lovable "crusty-old man." A few weeks ago he went to the hospital with some heart issues. I believe his health was in decline, but ever since I've known him his health had been in decline. Bobby was taken to be cremated earlier today. His family is planning on having a service sometime in May. As soon as I find out more information, I will update this post.

Thanks. Only a few of us actually met the guy, but you do get a feeling for a person after so many years of interaction online.

Please do keep us in the loop.

My sincerest condolences and best wishes to his family. Like PD said, despite never having met him, felt like I new him, and deeply respected the man.

Though the tortuous trails of the Internet, I just happened upon this "news" of Bob's passing. He was obviously a cool guy and I'm sure his loved ones are full of warm memories of him.

Made me remember the years that this board was a big part of my day and the friends a met and made associated with this silly fantasy baseball/ poli junkie clique we formed about 16 years ago.

So - Hey guys. Hope all is well.

Glad to see you poke your head in MBJ. Hope all is well with you and your family, also.

Just moved down to Albuquerque, and drove through Salt Lake City pulling a big trailer. It was full of cranes (and traffic was awful), and it reminded me of Bob's stories of Salt Lake's economic boom.

I miss the old group.
